Snow was too DEEP for the TSL Racing Snowshoes

We could have used the MSR Lightning Ascents today but opted for the TSL Racing Hyperflex Snowshoes. These are great snowshoes, especially if you want to move fast but they were no match for the trail conditions today.

We headed out on the Peaks Trail along the 10 Mile Range in Colorado. We were expecting a lot of the trails to be packed down but they weren’t. Other than the Peaks Trail being runnable in the early part, everything else we had to break trail.

We would…I would sink waist deep, making the going slow. I am about 175lbs and was carrying an Ultimate Direction Fastpack that weighed around 12lbs. The MSR snowshoes would have been the better choice.
