There is something special about coaching athletes to the finish line of the NYC marathon. Every year I have the pleasure of doing just that, but this year was different. This year I had the opportunity to coach 12 amazing athletes who have been raising money toward research for Epilepsy through the NYU Langone Medical Center, FACES (FINDING A CURE FOR EPILEPSY AND SEIZURES).
Many of my athletes currently live with or have someone close to them fighting with this disorder. Over 3 million people live with epilepsy everyday. My experience with these athletes has inspired me more than ever to do more to give back and to be present within my own health and happiness. We can all do more. Best of luck to all!
FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) is affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and its Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. FACES funds research to improve epilepsy care, advances new therapies, and fosters a supportive community for children, families and caregivers who live with the challenges of epilepsy.
The mission of FACES is to improve the quality of life for all those affected by epilepsy and seizures.
Our goal is to find a cure.
