Pristine day on the TRAILS spoiled by GARBAGE…

With the increased traffic on the trails and in the parks, trash is piling up. With limited resources, the parks, forest and state grounds can’t pick up after people who choose to litter. The Pine Meadow Lakes area in Harriman State Park has always been an issue with trash being left by visitors. It is hard to understand why people choose to litter so freely. Any insight into this, please comment below. Video is from today.

Normally we pick up trash without hesitation and carry as much as we can during each outing. Lately we are a bit more careful with COVID-19. We now recognize a location and plan to come back with garbage bags, gloves, masks and hand sanitizer to collect what others left behind.
