Sights & Sounds from the 2017 Vermont 50!

The Vermont 50 is an annual mountain bike and running race held each year during the last Sunday of September at Mount Ascutney located in West Windsor, Vermont. All benefits go to Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports which is an awesome opportunity for youth and adults with disabilities to gain a measure of self confidence and independence by participating in adaptive sports programs and activities year round in Vermont.

I went to this race to support Evan Fineman who I coach and to capture some of the action. We new the weekend was going to be a bit warmer then last years race but it wasn't too bad early on. As the sun rose and the morning progressed into the midday you really started to feel the heat, especially in the open fields, which there are a few of.

Evan had a very strong ride, finishing his 4th VT 50, placing 6th in the Single Speed MTB! You can check out Evan's Strava data by clicking here.

Here is some of the footage I had taken during the race. I also took many photos over the weekend and I hope to have those posted later this week so check back or just follow us on Facebook. Here is also a great race report from Scott Livingston. He and his family have a rich history with the VT50, click here

I also went "live" on our facebook page during the race. It was around mile 13-14 just past the Skunk Hollow aid station. It's a very beautiful stretch of dirt road and farm lands. I always look forward coming back to this section of the course each year. It's been 2 years since I last ridden here but I will look to register for next years race and try to capture some of the race from the bike...  You can see the video below.
